Revenue Split

One of our main reasons for starting Pixelbite was because we felt the current standards for revenue sharing was unfair for content producers. Current standards are between 15-35% of the total sale; we disagree with this model. We are not exactly sure what the "perfect" split of revenue is, however we know for certain that 15-35% for the content owner and 65-85% for the stock media company is not just. We want to be transparent with our content contributors about the revenue splits we offer. More details on our royalties can be found on our rate schedule page.

Video Sales

  • As you may know if you produce video content, it can be incredibly costly to both store and maintain, let alone distribute that content to end users. Due to the costs associated with video assets, we are forced to take a slightly larger share of the revenue.
  • We have thought long and hard about what portion of the revenue we'll need to maintain the video media while giving content creators the most revenue possible. Our revenue split on sales of stock video will be 55%/45% in favor of the contributor. We wouldn't feel comfortable as a content creator ourselves receiving less than 55% for our hard work.
We've also decided to constantly investigate what the "perfect" split is. Rest assured we don't plan to take more than 45% on video file sales. If anything changes, we would like to raise the rates in favor of the contributor.

Receiving Monthly Payouts

Each month, we will calculate how many of your files were sold during the previous calendar month and what the total amount received was. We will transfer your profit to you via PayPal in accordance to our Artist's Supply Agreement. In the future we will be adding additional payout options like bank transfer, wire transfer and paper checks so you have flexible options to choose from

Legal Agreements

Before you can become a certified contributor for Pixelbite, you will be required to fill out and agree to industry-standard legal agreements. This is to protect both parties and give us the legal right to sell your wonderful stock media. Also, our evil lawyers tell us we need to do this. More information on all things legal please check out our legal page. Royalty-Free Licensed Media on the site is sold as royalty-free to the buyer. Please visit to view the license we provide to our buyers.

If I'm a contributor for Pixelbite, can I still sell the same work on other stock media sites?
Yes. We hold no exclusivity agreements with you, so you can sell your work on our site and with whichever other stock media agencies you'd like.
How will I know how many of my clips sold each month?
We will provide you with a detailed report after the end of each month when we issue your monthly payout.
Why do you only offer 4K+ (3840x2160 and above) footage on Pixelbite?
We strongly believe 4K+ footage is the future, we feel that offering any product lower than this level of quality is irresponsible and restrictive to our industry.
